印度大停電區域 已漸恢復供電

綜合外電報導，影響印度六百多萬人的大停電，隨著三個全國電路網陸續修復，供電幾乎已經完全恢復正常。

報導引述印度電力系統公司主管的話表示，先前缺電嚴重的北部、東部與東北部，電力已經完全恢復。

印度連續兩天，遭遇大規模停電，造成火車、地鐵等交通服務，嚴重癱瘓。這次大規模停電，可說是印度近十一年來，最嚴重的停電事故。

India restores power after massive blackout

India's power supply has returned to normal after a massive blackout hit half the country.

The electricity went out on Tuesday night, affecting 20 states and union territories, including the capital New Delhi.

Trains came to a halt. Street lights also went out, paralyzing the affected areas.

Power was almost fully restored near midnight, local time, after the state-owned Power Grid Corporation of India restarted idled power stations.

The blackout left more than 200 coal miners trapped underground in West Bengal state after lifts failed.
All of them were rescued.

Tuesday's power failure follows a blackout that affected 9 northern states the day before.

Power Grid Corporation says numerous states have overdrawn electricity, causing grid failure. It says this led to a cut in supply in all areas receiving power from the same grid.

Electricity consumption is rising rapidly due to India's economic growth. Blackouts have previously affected wide areas of the country. But back-to-back outages of this level are unusual even in power-strapped India. The government and electricity authorities are likely to face severe criticism if the problem continues.

インドの大停電 おおむね解消

経済成長に伴い電力需要が増加しているインドでは、先月３１日、国土の半分に及ぶ地域で大規模な停電が起きましたが、電力公社などがふだんは運転していない発電所を稼働させた結果、停電はおおむね解消されました。

インドでは先月３１日、首都ニューデリーを含め国土の半分に及ぶ合わせて２０の州や連邦直轄領で一斉に停電が起き、電車が止まったり信号機が動かなくなったりして、市民生活に大きな影響が広がりました。

その後、電力公社などがふだんは運転していない発電所を稼働させた結果、現地時間の３１日夜遅くまでに停電はおおむね解消されました。

また、停電の影響で、東部の西ベンガル州では炭坑のリフトが動かなくなり、作業員２００人余りが一時坑内に取り残されていましたが、その後、全員が無事、救出されたということです。

インドでは、３０日も北部の９つの州などで停電があり、公社では、複数の州が同時に大量の電力を引き込もうとしたことから、同じ送電網で結ばれた地域が停電したものとみています。

経済成長に伴い電力需要の増加が続くインドでは、これまでも広い地域で停電が起きていますが、これほどの規模の停電が２日続けて起きるのは異例で、今後、政府や公社の責任を追及する声が高まりそうです。
